Machine Technical Reports

Servers

  • Looking into upgrading VM hosts from proxmox 6 to 7/8.
  • Plans to kill mussel continue :)
  • Grand evil plan for upgrades for fixing/rebuilding/killing various services.

Network

  • Packets are still being lost.
    • Got an update from UWAIT "looking into it".

Desktops

  • Christmas was having issue with internert.
    • Has hopefully been fixed.
    • DHCP wasn't on.
  • Carpsucker was having issues booting but is working now.
    • Weird one-off issue probably.
  • Wifi adaptor installed on Christmas.
    • Will try to get it workng as an access point for VR
    • Need to try update drivers for it to allow running as an ad-hoc network.

Miscellaneous

  • Test and Tag coming up (Tuesday 24th October).

    • Can try clean up the tables to get 5 year tags.
    • Don't need to be tagged by guild electricians, can be another electrician.

  • Strange wiki page has been deleted.

  • Bones has bought a new CPU for the Mac Pro.

Cam Hall Quiz Night

    • Total profit $664.84 split 4 ways.
      • UCC gets $166.21 .
      • We need to distribute the money.

Relay 4 Life

  • Only [CAS] and [->|] attended on behalf of UCC.
  • [BLU] went on Saturday Night when UCC had already done their 250 laps.
    • Final laps over $300.
    • [BLU] donated $150 on behalf of UCC.
    • Receipt has been sent to treasurer@-.
  • We were super late.
    • If no-one in committee want to be involved we shouldn't be attending.

Tech Talks

  • Venue got cancelled but committee didn't see.
    • OCMs can't book events (Only exec).
  • Ran it in the loft, went very well.
  • Might run it next year as two talks.
    • Get other clubs involved.

VR Night

  • Forgor.
  • Was supposed to be today but didn't organise it.
    • Not much interest.

UniLan

  • Pretty likely to be at Curtin this semester.
    • Compromise for travel distance.
  • 25th-26th November.
    • Weekend after camp.
  • Curtin IT wants everything to be test and tagged.
    • They might have a misunderstanding of our scope, maybe confusing us with RFLAN.
    • If everything needs to be tested andd tagged will run at Murdoch.
  • Subcom regs have been approved by the subcom.
