President's Report

  • Figured out how to add a .pdf and .png file to the wiki, thanks [BRD].
  • Helped [I2N] fix the jammed Fanta slot in the vending machine.
  • Started getting the ball rolling on the 50th Anniversary planning.
  • Attented Artemis LAN. It went pretty well.
  • Found out that I'm the 5th highest person getting drinks from the vending machine on the dispense rankings.
    • [JTK] has overtaken [LCY]. By one drink last I checked.
  • Continued to update the wiki with quotes on the whiteboard and QOTW.
  • Missed the Wellbeing picnic last week Monday. [GPO] went in my stead today.
  • Attented Charity Vigil meeting.

  • Not much to report.
  • Attended UniLan meeting.
  • Minutes on website got messed up.
    • Permissions were reverted/minutes removed.

    • We decided to run it at Curtin, but Curtin student guild are being difficult, so we will try and run at Curtin in sem 2.
    • Venues has been contacted again to book Ezone North 1.09-1.11.
      • UniIT, booking, etc will be easy to handle as we have run before.

  • Melee tournament

    • Harry from perthindies reached out again.
    • This time we managed to organise a bit better.
    • Was looking to run a smash bros melee tournament.
    • Had 5th of May planned, but is postponed for now.
    • Waiting on Harry for new date.
    • Towards end of sem.

Fresher Rep's Report

  • Not much to report.
  • Have been sick the past week but will be able to return to normal.

OCM Reports

  • - Working of fixing square for uccportal. - setting up dev environment for it was a project and a half - we now have a docker container for quickly deploying dispense ...

    • built the monolith with [GPO]
      • found a NVME drive that was being used purely for linux lol
    • Attended Artemis LAN.

    • Picked up the monolith from Armadale.

    • Attended Charity Vigil meeting.
      • Wrote an announcement for the feedback form.

Machine Technical Reports

Servers

  • Molmol saga continues.

  • This weekend will transfer last of Molmol data onto Wobbegong.

    • PLEASE BACK UP YOUR DATA BEFORE MAY 5th.
      • Away directory/ some services (webcams).
      • Most VMs have been moved.
      • mp3s from eggman.
    • Desktops may be unusable over the weekend.
    • Wobbegong to temporarily host webcams.

  • Power outage sometime soon(TM).

    • Make sure everything is set up properly just in case.
    • UniIT contacted us to ask when would be best.
      • Preferably earlier in the morning.

Network

  • UWA late packets causing issues has got better.

Desktops

  • Piranha have become MegaPiranha(TM)
    • (Piranha moved to new case)

Misc.

  • Account locking hasn't happened yet.

    • [GPO] will do it tonight.

  • Remind people to log out of the PCs when they leave!!

New Equipment

  • [BRD] got a really big PC case that he put Pirhana in.

    • [I2N] moves to accept donation of the monolith.
      • [GPO] seconds.
      • Uninimous.

  • Some PCs probably should be upgraded.

    • Some only need graphics card refresh.
      • Second hand graphics cards?
      • Old ones for GPU cluster?

  • Look into GPU acceleration cluster.

  • Get rid of one/both of the Macs and replace with one of the other PCs.

  • Testbench to test clownfish/catfish/other PCs not in use.

Drinks and Snacks

  • Went on a foodrun.

    • We now have Mars Bars and KitKats.
      • KitKats are a bit expensive.
      • Get snickers/other chocolate.
        • Keep in mind nut allergies?
        • Get fundraiser boxes/ mix.

  • The Fanta slot got stuck due to a small can adaptor being in there.

    • Both small can adaptors are in the cupboard.

Mail

  • Checked by [KKZ] and [I2N], no mail.

Guild/SOC

  • The Wellbeing Committee has organised a trial runs of picnics for one committee person from a couple clubs.
    • [GPO] went today.
    • Would get free hampers for clubs, 3 per fortnight.

SOC Meeting

  • Not much to report.
  • Public Health Postgrad Students applied to be affiliated, SlavSoc disaffliliated.
  • Feedback on Fringe Week.
  • New Innovation Grant.
  • SPGs are fully approved.

Tenancy

  • There's a Cam Hall Accessibility Forum this Thursday, May 4th at 2.30pm in the CCZ.

    • Minutes will be taken.
    • [GPO] can go.

  • University has finally agreed to refurbish Cam Hall and install a lift ETA 2025.

    • Cam hall not up to code.

  • Went well.
  • 9 or 10 attended.
    • 2 or 3 UniSFA people showed up.
  • Nothing stopping us from doing this unofficially.
  • Now have accounts specifically for gaming events on PCs.
    • Password is the clubroom password. Username is lanuser.
  • Ran out of computers, some had to play on their laptops.

General Business

Data Retention

  • public archives not good in terms of webcams

  • 7 years minimum must be kept on archive

  • after those years, it would nice to have some screenshots for historical reasons

  • we discontinue public archives

  • our default stance is that one picture a month after 7 years, otherwise itll get deleted.

    • can be a thing we can do at the end of every year
    • talk to the clubs about it. ask if they need any specific pictures
    • give them~ 2 weeks notice
    • live cams will still be around though

  • start doing:

    • print signs for "you are on cams"
      • [GPO] on it
      • postpone privatisation of archives until we know all the laws and communicate with the other clubs

  • [NTU] and [BOB] enter 17.05

  • need a lock on some of drawers and need to throw some stuff out
