Committee Reports

President's Report

  • Absent.

Vice President's Report

  • Put the door policy into LaTex so it doesn't look like s***.
    • Started tweaking it.
    • Continued thinking about door policy.
  • We need to get some coke zero.
  • Done food safety training.

Secretary's Report

  • Sent emails about various things.
  • Lost my bag on a bike ride on Thursday (28/07/2018), including wallet which contained UCC clubroom key.
    • Hopefully someone sends it to police lost property.

    • [JWB] We may need to replace the locks - someone should look into doing this.

  • Went on Unigames camp, it was fun.

Treasurer's Report

  • Accounts:
    • Cheque: $5543.48
    • Mastercard: $30.62
    • Guild: $1,753.65
  • Made a samba share for /home/other/committee/ so it should be easier to access!
    • Will put documentation on the wiki sometime.
  • Our revenue fluctuates quite a bit, but our expenses are roughly $11k per annum.
    • If we aim for $11k spending this year we should make a profit.

Fresher Rep's Report

  • Did food safety training.
  • Did RSA training, need to work at a bar for a week as well.
    • [JWB] Do you really have to do that?
  • I'm here, not dead, finally.

OCM Reports

  • [CHB] is absent.

  • Spied on Unigames
    • There were issues with the food on camp, resulting in a lot of people being cranky all the time.
    • Problems with portioning mostly.

  • I relieved the club of much of its tuna.

Machine Technical Reports

Servers

  • AD broke. Multiple times.
    • [CFE] had to fix it late one Monday night, rejoined motsugo to the domain.
    • [FVP] migrated samson around and that broken NFS mounts - needs special config to allow it with apparmour.
  • Proxmox has been updated.

Network

  • Net works.

Desktops

  • cobra doesn't seem to have had any recurring issues this week.
    • Graphics card might be a bit loose.
  • porcupine is FUBAR, definitely needs to be replaced.
    • [JWB] We should upgrade it for something around $1-1.5k,
    • Graphics card in porcupine is most likely perfectly fine.
    • Hard disk has been tested and works.
  • Suggested action:
    • Replace porcupine with cobra, but keep graphics card from porcupine.
    • Buy new machine to replace cobra on the desk.
    • [JWB] wants to reduce the number of Windows machines.
  • [CFE] Do we want to get new monitors?
    • Smaller monitors on christmas and catfish should be replaced with something new.
    • Cheapest monitors at PLE are about $100-$200.

    • $500 for best interactive stall, $250 Tav voucher for second place.

  • Aircon people: nothing has happened since last week.

  • Was the EMP submitted on time?

    • Loft will be booked for the event.

  • We'll be screening "Social Network", Thursday 12th July.
