Quiz Night

Thursday, 3rd May 2012
UWA Guild Tavern

UCC, UniSFA and Unigames run a quiz night annually. The quiz night is a hilarious evening of silly games, answering questions (ranging from the slightly obscure to incredibly obscure), and hurling (verbal) abuse at the judges – but not too much. In theory, prizes are awarded for those teams who answer the most questions correctly. In practice the judges decide who wins based on a complicated system of bribery. Needless to say, this is an 18+ event.

UCC::Progcomp 2012 - Stratego AI Competition

10th March to 14th May, 2012
UCC Clubroom / Anywhere

http://progcomp.ucc.asn.au

UCC's programming competition for 2012 is free for all to enter, and offers some cool prizes!

Stratego is a popular board game of incomplete information, and there is plenty of room for different tactics, simple and complex.

You don't have to physically come to the clubroom to participate, but if you want to ask questions about the competition and/or chat with other people about their ideas, being in the clubroom is strongly recommended!

Alternately, hang out on the IRC channel #progcomp for discussion, updates and announcements.

The shedule thus far:

  1. Progcomp Workshop - 10th March
  2. Preliminary Round 1 - 28th April
  3. Preliminary Round 2 - 5th May
  4. Finals - 14th May

The Preliminary Rounds are worth 10% each of the total scores

The Finals are worth 80% of total scores

Note: Although this is a "Competition", it is fairly informal. If you have no idea where to start, plenty of people on #progcomp would be willing to help out.
