UCC Committee Meeting Minutes 2015-04-28

Confirmation of minutes from previous meeting
- [BOB]: Last weeks minutes didnt explicitly state that [BG3] shouldn't spend
  the money on the coin and note mech until after giving documentation.
    - [CHS]: Sorry boss

##President's Report
- Had a branding meeting with [SAS], talked about colours
  - [SAS]: At the end of [BG3]'s term as president, UCC had it's branding
    looked at by a graphic designer, [BG3], [SAS] and [GOZ] currently have
    copies of the first results, ask committee members if you want to see current
    results

##Education Report
- Intro to prog coming up, [EJK] to help out [GOZ] with presentation, possibly
  also presenting
- Discussions on which microphone should be purchased is ongoing, looks like a
  wireless lapel mic from ebay for ~$10 will be purchased
- No disagreements about presenter, purchase  will continue as planned 

##Social Report
- Quiz night went well, thanks to [MVP] for his work despite being unwell on
  the night
- Redflag still interested, emails will be sent
- Next big thing coming up will be camp
  - Something like a LAN will be organised towards the end of June
- Pizza nights (with screenings)
  - [LDA] to organise the first one, probably this Friday
- [HTL]: Too many birthdays, stop getting old

    - UCC got $230 from ticket sales, $99.65 cash from the night
  - $133 still to be taken from our Guild account for venue hire

##Secretary's Report
- Nothing to report, whiteboard notifications are successful
  - Cleanup about to be emailed to door@, and has been advertised on Facebook

##Fresher Rep's Report
- 2 fresher tables at Quiz Night
  - ~50% were from UCC
  - [LDA]: Informal UCC moba thingies will happen

##Machine Technical Reports
###Servers
- Everything will go down tomorrow morning, scheduled power outage for 15
  minutes between 6 AM and 7 AM tomorrow morning, UPS should handle it
    - [BG3] will check everything tonight, under control

###Network
- Wifi is bad
- [BG3] to possibly investigate the issues with Unisfa's access point tonight,
  or Thursday night
- UWAnime want our internet
  - Working on it

###Desktops
- Cockgrunter reinstalled with 8.1
  - More stable, temporary profile issue fixed
  - Investigate Windows and Linux reinstalls at wheel meeting

##New equipment
- New HDMI cable has arrived, will be plugged into projectorino
- Keycap puller donated by [GOZ], hooray for keyboard cleaning at cleanup

###Guild/SOC
- SOC meeting 3rd last Wednesday in May
- Tenancy committee meeting at 10 Saturday morning in Guild Council room
  - Guild possibly to invest money into getting Cameron Hall actually cleaned
    up
  - New recycling bins will be occuring soon
  - Proper cleaners will come through around twice a week
  - Stuff outside of the club needs to be removed, brought into the clubroom
    or put in cupboards
    - Includes bookshelf and printer

###Other Entities
- Google ambassador talked to about Google I/O
  - Event's being held at Curtin on the 28th of May (Thursday)

##Events
- Quiz Night
  - Happened
  - 113 tickets sold
  - Generic Fresher Table 2 won
    - Everyone else is a disgrace for letting this happen
  - Huge thanks to [MVP] for literally working himself to death to make this
    happen
  - Questions about "What year did X happen?" sucked

- Camp
  - If Events don't get back to [SAS], he's gonna get mad and go over there
    himself

- Tech Talks
  - The only definetly planned is [DAA] on the 8th of May
  - Topic will be on the UCC authentication process

- Cameron Hall Ball
  - Not a huge amount has changed from last week, still waiting on EMP, for
    more info read last weeks minutes

- Cameron Hall Cleanup
  - This Saturday - 2nd of May - 11 AM
  - Door members need to attend or they'll be removed
  - [GOZ] to write a list of things to be cleaned, will also be put on wiki
  - [SAS] moves to budget $150 for Pizza at the cleanup, [JDN] seconds
    - Passes, 8 for, 1 abstain

- [BG3] to liase with Google@UWA about Google I/O
  - Done for event, not done for bits and pieces
- [EJK] to buy another HDMI adapter

- [BOB]: blacklight needs a new cartridge
  - [JDN] to buy Blacklight a new cartridge

- [BG3]: Purchase of some (a heap) of reference posters to hang up. PEP8,
  Git, Bash etc.
  - Committee likes this, will be purchased as consumables

- [GOZ]: ComSSA (Curtin) would like to colocate a server with us.
  - No issues with space
  - Currently a rule that non-members cannot make vms that just anyone can
    have accounts on
  - We need to know;
    - 1: What they're using it for
    - 2: Who's supporting it
    - 3: Who will continue to support it next year
    - UCC committee would like to hear this from their new upcoming committee,
      we are happy to support COMSSA
  - Mostly a wheel issue, will be discussed at wheel meeting

- [GOZ]: Dooring of [ROW]
  - The committee has decided to extend the dooring to next committee meeting
    based upon previous tomfoolery
  - Further action will be taken as appropriate

- [GOZ]: [MLG]'s door application

Committee goes even further in camera to discuss [MLG]'s door application

Commitee returns

- [MLG] has been approved for addition to door group, pending her email
  response

- [BG3]: I want to purchase ~A3 sized whiteboards to magnetically attach to
  the tool cupboard
  - [BG3] makes a motion to budget $80 to purchase whiteboards and magnets so that
    we can have whiteboards attatched to the tool cupboard we can remove, [TJB] seconds
    - Passes unanimously

  - These are preliminary designs based on the scope she was given ("techie")
