President's Report

- Polo pre-orders close this Friday
  - Samples have been taken back
  - How many does UCC want to get for reserve?
    [SLX] - Problem is what sizes to get
    [SLX] - Five total, range of middle-sizes
      - General consensus on five
- Tech Video Night
- UESC Meeting
- GigaLAN and Camp organisation should be a priority
- Tenancy Budget Approvals
  - Timeframe for repairs
- Sponsorship: we have contacted WebInABox regarding sponsorship in the form of SSL certificates

Fresher Rep's Report

- Freshers are happy
- If we hold an amateur LoL tournament, we can get Riot to sponsor with prizes
  - This is regarding the GigaLAN by the way...
  - Will be good
  - Ask someone who plays LoL for more information...
- What's wrong with using less resource-heavy WMs like XFCE or Openbox on less capable boxes
  - Not GNOME3

    - More Wheezy than they were before
      - (This means they are now running Debian Wheezy, for those that don't realize)
    [SZM] - Curious is missing a disk (how curious...)
      - This is because I removed it

  [SLX] - People having wireless issues, probably their own fault...

  [SZM] - People hate GNOME3, according to instantaneous local poll
  [SLX] - Pinball is in a state of OS flux

New equipment
  [SLX] - Relay remains in Afghanistan

    [SAS] - We aren't desperate, end of term, leave until GigaLAN?

General Business

[GOZ] : For a new phone, we should email telephonists@uwa.edu.au with a description of the problems we have encountered.

[GOZ] : We should consider getting another new door relay, as the current one remains broken and the previous one we ordered has seemingly fallen into the postal potential well known as Afghanistan.
  [SZM] Moves we purchase another door relay and not send it to Afghanistan this time ([SLX] - Or any other middle eastern countries)

[SAS] : UESC Meeting
  [SAS] Attended
    - Few collaborations we can work with them on
    - We can have a stall at a vacation work expo
    - Engineering week is 6th-9th August
      - Clubs do interesting engineering things
        - We could do robots, coding, something with coke machine

[SAS] : Future Initiatives
  - What do committee (and other) members want to do in future
    [VAN] - Be more involved with the club
    [ODF] - I want to investigate getting the ability to provide software licenses to members (MSDNAA, Dreamspark)
      [AMS] - This would be good if it included SolidWorks and other engineering software
    [SZM] - Being exposed to the club has been a great learning experience. I want to keep running educational events like Tech Talks and ProgComp.
    [NEO] - I got nothing
    [GOZ] - Rule the world, and what [SZM] said
    [SLX] - What [SZM] said...
    [SAS] - What [SZM] said, and more LAN and interclub events, and be more involved on campus. Also working to get a new clubroom.

[SAS] : New sound system
  - Have [ODF] and [NEO] look into a new sound system

[SAS] : Have a UCC get together dinner
  [GOZ] - Pizza night?
    [SZM] volunteers to organize sometime after exams
