UCC Committee Meeting Minutes 2008-05-02

Meeting opened: Fri May 2nd 13:10:00 WST 2008

* President's Report:
	-Quiz night tonight, everyone should go, will be fun
	-Have done a basic t-shirt design, will send to list for discussion
	-Fire in air-conditioning in machine room "and I was like shiiiiit", called security,
	-they sent fire depart and building services, down and aircon and powersocket.

* Vice President's Report:
	-Got no replies for sponsorship in city
	-Ironman Movie Rocks *air-guitars Iron Man theme*
	-Had car serviced, works well
	-Everyone should come to the quiz night.

* Treasurer's Report:
	-Had car repaired also works well
	-Deposited $1000 cheque and $360 in cash
	-Balance is ~$3800 once the cheque clears
	-need to renew the ucc domain name
	-still getting the hang of AARnet bill
	-If people have ideas where money should be spent on please let committee know
	
* Secretary's Report:
	-checked mail, had postcards
	-sorry for lateness in putting up minutes, forgot after the LAN
	-assignments suck

* Fresher Rep's Report:
	

* Machine Technical Reports
- Servers
	Are Hott, see presidents report
	Propose new air-conditioning
	/services has been moved from manbo to musundo
- Network
	Had issues at UCC:LAN --> small problems were fixed
- Desktops
	Antivirus + spyware concerns, WinAdmin to be more aware
	Combtail has been formatted
	Vix3n HDD died, to get new HDD and replace another computer with it
	HDD's are cheap, agreed to purchase 2x 500Gb, unanimous
- Appliances
	We have a TV need to find locations to put it (Thanks ROW)
- New equipment
	
* Drinks and Snacks
	LOTS of Lemon flavoured drink of various
	New 'pot-luck' slot, who knows what will come out
	Kirks price increased to 75c

* Mail, Guild and SOC
	checked mail
	SOC meeting Tuesday 6th May 6pm

* Action Items
	-SJY to buy HDDs
	-SJY to investigate USB cable prices
	-LAW to send tshirt design request to list
	-LOL to sort and lock unrenewed accounts --> in progress
	-LAW to renew domain name
	-Wheel group to advise committee if a new aircon needs to be purchased
	-SJY to increase kirks drinks to 76c
	-ROW to find location for TV
	-SJY to investigate free mice/keyboards from ITS

* General Business:
-Mice and keyboards
	need to replace ball mice, possibly get a keyboard package
	Agree to purchase 5 mice if none can be obtained for free -> 5 for 1 abstain

	2 7600GTs offered by SJY for $75
