Correspondence Report: * Received a video card, and a multi IO card via internal mail. Machine Report: * Beige is working now. * Manta is pretty much working - it has a bad tape drive. * AbiWord install [fscked] up on mussel. General Business: * SOC Busy Bee - Cleanup was good. SOC was vaguely happy with the room. [GMB], [NTU], [MST], [MTL], [ORU] and Anthony Briggs turned up. Must rally for clubs who didn't turn up to get kicked out. Solid Gold, Gonad Clan and INC had no delegates. [GMB] told SOC what was wrong with the door, and that we want to be able to unlock it from the inside. Froggy was running around with a list of things that needed to be fixed in Cameron Hall. * Programming Competition - [GMB] says that [BEN] has a really cool problem. We need to promote it more. People should get up at the beginning of their lectures to promote it, or atleast show the transparency. [TAZ] says she'll email the CS lists. Make [BEN] put it up on the UWA homepage, and [MTL] to put it on UCS news. [GMB] Marcia did Law. [MST] What? All of them? [YAK] Did she show them the transparency aswell? * We should set up on Friday night, we'll put the DEC server 300 and run some LAN stuff into the loft. [BRQ] leaves. *We don't have a liquor permit, so we can't provide alcohol. We said we'd provide free food and drinks, so we need to work out how much we're prepared to spend on coke etc. We won't be providing unlimited drinks, we'll provide and unlimited subset. Once said subset runs out, we'll refill it, and start charging for drinks. O-Day system not suitable for this situation, it's a pain in the ass, and we just want to promote a laid back atmosphere. We'll provide pizza after a few hours, and the next morning everyone can go and get Maccas or something if they want (everyone to provide their own). * Prizes - [GMB] suggests a $200 cash first prize. We'll also have random spot prizes, eg $10 coke credits. [BEN] and [GMB] will work out what the spot prizes are going to be. [GMB] moves $100 for free drinks, $100 for pizza and $300 for prizes. Passed. * Quiz Night - [TAZ] to book Tav. [GMB] to chase up free drinks. [GMB] We should organise a tour of the Observatory. We can get in for academic rates, and [AJW] will give us a tour. * Sponsorship - talk to Tibor at Apple. [TIE] for door. [TIE] receives a grilling on door rules. [GMB] moves [TIE] for door, [YAK]/[ANT] seconds. Passed. Meeting closed 6:48pm.
