Not as difficult as we were led to believe. - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone etc etc. - I wish Nick and Mitch a speedy recovery, our thoughts are with you. - We should also remember that Heath Loveday passed away one year ago, our thoughts are with his friends and family. Treasurer's Report ------------------ - Reimbursed [BOB] for various things, see General Business. Secretary's Report ------------------ - Have checked the mail a few couple of times since the previous meeting but not since the Summer break. - Our mysterious subscription to Circuit Cellar has expired. - There is a new Cash & Carry card in the committee pigeon hole if anyone feels like buying some snacks any time soon. Machine Technical Reports ------------------------- Servers: - mylah is a new server from [FEL], see tech@ list for details. - It is now running Xen. - mooneye was upgraded to lenny over the break by [DAA] as it was due for an upgrade. - This broke somethings including RAID and Apache. - [JCF] has reconfigured Apache to simplify handling of user sites and the main UCC web site which also reduced the web site's dependency on mooneye. - mermaid's fans are all dead, the aircon is the temporary replacement fan. - nautilus, novorossiisk, and some SETI machine have been retired and removed from the machine room. - camwhore is now operating all but one webcam. Network: - Is stable, other than mooneye's downtimes which temporarily caused large delays in DNS resolution. Desktops: - UCCDOMAIN is not working, fails on all Windows machines if logging in without a cached user profile. [LAW] leaves. Appliances: - The tape library does not work, the tape gets stuck in the elevator. - [BOB] moves to buy a 1TB SATA HDD to replace the tape library, [RVS] seconds, unanimous. New Equipment: - mylah, see Servers. Drinks and Snacks ----------------- - [MRD] and [BOB] went on drinks run, bought a small amount of very expensive Coke and plenty of other drinks. - We need to purchase a lot of Coke and snacks before O-day. Mail, Guild and SOC ------------------- - Not much to say on the matter. Should we do this for polos? - Since a fair number of people have already pre-ordered, adding this condition is not likely to increase polo pre-sales. - Nobody seconds. - [BOB] : purchase of a double sized mattress protector and fitted sheet for the new couch.
