UCC Committee Meeting Minutes 2008-05-16

Meeting opened: Fri May 16th 13:20:00 WST 2008

* President's Report:
	-Have a 'fun' week because of keys
	-Security said they were changing the lock, wasn't actually done or confirmed, could not trace where the order came from
	-What will happen will happen, no issues with them putting a lock on it.
	-SSH keys: every SSL server has to be regenerated
	-Discussion about issue trackers
	-Tonight we are lending the sms screen to BDL, it should work
	-There are two new wheel members LOL and SJY
	
* Vice President's Report:
	-Put money in safe
	-Keys/machine room lock, had issues with that but its all sorted out
	-nothing has exploded so all good

* Treasurer's Report:
	-Took money out of paypal account, $621, will be deposited
	-More bills to be paid, some that have already been paid
	-Chocolate in machine
	-balance is ~$3800

* Secretary's Report:
	-4 hours sleep
	-checked mail
	-MITS LAN tonight
	-UCC news will be done next week, please send any submissions to me

* Fresher Rep's Report:
	-The Freshers are Happy
	-spare pentium 4 donated to club, on Friday

* Machine Technical Reports
- Servers
	Have been upgraded to the new open SSH, wont work with many of the old keys.
	Decommissioned Manbo, it is outside under the stairs. Going to take out all the 'good stuff' from Manbo, to send to Arts. Rest will be offered up for free.
	
- Network
		
- Desktops
	vix3n needs to be set up by next Friday or its being taken home

- Appliances
	SMS screen should be working, DAA replaced the gear and will advertise if it runs well tonight
	
- New equipment
	there is a graphics card that needs to be installed. Will possibly used in SLI as all other computers in the room are AGP

* Drinks and Snacks
	We have chocolates and tini-tiny chip packets
	We need more coke, ROW to do is a coke run

* Mail, Guild and SOC
-statements given to SJY
-SJY has claim forms, is going to try work out how to do them
-SJY to try get $1m

* Action Items
	-ROW to buy HDDs and 5 new optical mice (unanimous)
	-LAW to send tshirt design request to list
	-LOL to sort and lock unrenewed accounts --> in progress, still sorting forms
	-SJY to bring up 5 free keyboards from ITS
	-VIX to look at 9-1 booking

* General Business:

-Troppo
	UCC doesn't need another server, might consider it if price comes down.
	Has a know problem with rebooting if hot.
