Song Highlights
Kid for Today

Boards of Canada filled the 4 year gap between their first and second albums with several EPs and bootlegs. The most widely released of these was In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country.

The EP is 4 tracks long. There's 2 average songs, 1 really good one and one earth shatteringly brilliant display of minimalist electronica, which is worth the $15 alone.

"Kid for Today," the opener, is simply amazing. A big, swirling cosmic trip, laced with slow, staggered beats and a gorgeous ambient melody. The rest of the EP is great, but make no mistake, the only real reason to buy this EP is for this song.

If they'd waited a year or two, and tacked it onto Geogaddi, that album would score 11/10.
