Projects undertaken included:

• Fault correction and feature addition to the core MPT-1327 Trunking Radio Controller Software, consisting of more than 200 000 lines of C source, with strict adherence to a Quality Assurance system complying with the ISO 9001 standard.
• Implementation of testing software for the above system to run under Windows, using both C and Borland Delphi.
• Modifying the embedded controller firmware for a PSTN line interface module to support a Chinese line interfacing standard.
• Implementation, from concept through to coding and testing, of the firmware for a "despatch console", using an embedded system. Some project management responsibilities including allocating resources, estimating timescales and identifying risks were carried out by myself.

Indian Pacific Communications provides resources to complete specific projects for companies in the telecommunications industry. My job involved managing and working on a small project for a New Zealand telecommunications company. Duties performed included managing the project, providing timescale estimates, travelling to New Zealand and liaising with the client, and designing and implementing an engineering solution for the client with full documentation.
Skill required for this project included:

• programming in 68HC11 assembler for the embedded, real-time, transceiver control interface module for an MPT-1327 trunked radio system, and
• programming in C++ under DOS and Solaris for the Master Switching Centre and Network Management Tool components of the trunked radio system.

SPECIAL SKILLS

• Desktop publishing skills on Macintosh, Windows and Unix systems
• Craft skills, including the creation of ceramic frogs
• Programming experience with C, C++, Pascal, Delphi and Java on a wide variety of computer systems
