- [ODF]: I believe it is dangerous to set a precedent system for dooring - it should be reserved for all applicable situations - [ROW]: I was also removed from winadmin, which didn't allow me to rectify the uninstallation - [TPG]: that was because you broke a machine, and didn't follow proper procedures - [SLX]: When you change a machine, you should email tech@ - [ROW]: would it be possible for committee to set up a policy for winadmin? - [RNZ]: that would be difficult, as winadmin is controlled by wheel - [ODF]: Should it be easy for winadmin, or any user, to delete Steam or other software so easy? - [SLX]: it's a perfectly valid thing to do, even if there are better ways to do it - [RNZ] and [SZM]: should be better communication about the software - [ROW]: the steamapps folder can and does become quite bloated, it should be purged at least semi-regularly - [SLX] agrees - [SZM]: these software specific issues should remain the domain of tech@ and the wheel group - [SAS] ends discussion, no action taken, [ROW] at this moment not on winadmin [SAS] : Clubroom Layout - had a look at the clubroom, could have stuff moved around -[ROW]: the bin stinks - [SAS]: been proposed that it be moved outside the clubroom to where the old tool cupboard is now - [SZM] suggests moving the coffee table - [ROW]: at the moment, it's just used for sitting on and dumping broken machines -[RNZ]: is there history in the coffee table? is some antiquated member going to be upset if we remove it -[ROW]: it's a barrier between the two sides of the room, where people tend to congregate - increasing storage efficiency, reduce the racks from two to one, so we can move the couch back for a bit more space - [SZM]: it's not an issue at most times, just at peak hours - coffee table to be moved outside the club room for a week, trial - [XON] to email ucc@ for someone to take the old tool cupboard [TJB] : GigaLAN Progress Report - Commissioned someone to get poster done - Going to be having talks with FutureTG (Dan) about sponsors - EMP about to be done - Low-risk management plan (no alcohol) - need a certain amount of metres of urinals per person [SAS]: heathred SSD - minecraft crashed, o the tragedy - an extra SSD could help with heathred not crashing -[ROW] and [RNZ] both have a spare 128 SSD to donate - Wheel looking into it [RNZ]: WACON is on the 4th and 5th of May - is a Western Australian hacking conference - AFAIK, tickets are sold-out - could speak to chronicdemon on IRC to squeeze a few members in [RNZ]: Some posters done - "Want Shell?" (feat. Zoidberg) - has a QR code and the required Guild stamp - the old "eat your email, read your lunch" poster, updated for Guild requirements - the Subliminal messaging poster is difficult to modify, won't be using for now -[SAS]: We will distribute the Zoidberg and Read/Eat posters for the moment -[SLX]: faculties don't require the guild logo, can be removed for them Meeting closed at 13:35 Current Action Items ------------------------------- -[XON] to email ucc@ regarding someone taking the old tool cupboard -[SAS] to become events manager for GigaLAN -[TJB] to continue organising GigaLAN -[BG3] and [VAN] to do drinks stuff Minutes uploaded by [XON] at 13:55 on 2013-04-30
